New work and new format

Graeme (my partner) and I joined forces and made this painting using our combined skills.  He found the timber boards and made the frame and I did the rest.  I’ve enjoyed working on this piece more than any others for a long time. I think it was the colaboration aspect that I found so pleasurable.  May there be more!

Painting by Emma Wright, New Zealand Artist

Shared Jorney. 560x440mm. Oil, Gesso, Timber. $1200

The Waiheke Winter Art Festival

The inaugural Waiheke Winter Art Festival is happening this Queens birthday weekend – June 5,6,7.  Its a bit swanky, a bit fun, a bit glamorous and way more than a bit of a great way to spend a winters day.  You get to meet Waiheke’s more established artists at their working studios – all in fine style.

Image for an invite…what do you think?

Given my art doesn’t photograph particularly well – I’d love to know your opinion on which image below would work well on an invite.  All comments welcomed…

Got the studio humming

Oh yeah.  There is nothing like feeling the pull of the paint only minutes after you’ve washed your hands and are onto other things. I can see myself spending a bit of time in the new digs.  White, light and VERY peaceful.  What more could I want?  Maybe an extra couple of square meters, but I can be happy enough without for now.
